The power of storytelling

Day 3 The power of storytelling
Chapter 1 Introduction

To understand the art of strategic storytelling we first need to talk a few words about the power of stories. Well a great deal of
words actually. Enough to fill an entire chapter!

When I say “power of storytelling” I mean the impact stories have on us human beings and the role they play for our ability to understand
our world, communicate and build relations. In the following days I will explain the role of stories and storytelling in the human community
and the mechanisms which makes storytelling so strategically useful for us.

You will read about why it is so hard to not listen to a story, how it comes that a story can move stones, how stories travel through time
and space and how we, with the help of stories, can create meetings between minds and share each other worlds.

Let’s start with an experience I think many of you share with me; how hard it is NOT listen to a story being told.
Isn’t that sometimes a painful truth?

Tomorrow I will write about why it’s like this and what it says about us.
